Well, not really, but I love the pattern, The Love of Spiders. I must say that it was a fun and engaging knit. I highly recommend it. However, the yardage is a tad off for the main color. I was only able to complete 7 out of the 9 repeats and it didn’t make much difference in the end result.
Yarn is Yankee Sole, our 100% merino with a great twist. Colorways are Fresh Apricot and The Admiral.
Happy Easter Folks!
Greetings from a warmer than normal Maryland. I was home on Cape Cod for the past 7 days and it was the right amount of cold. The weather hear makes me a bit nuts.
I arrived home around 9:00 pm Monday evening to a happy family and and an empty refrigerator. Yesterday I just wanted to ease back in before I am out the door again on Friday….more about that later. Before I headed north the refrigerator was full and there was lots of yummy food. Hubby claimed to go to the grocery store and when he says he picked up a “couple of things”, he means it literally. How do you go into a grocery store and only pick up one or two things?? Must be a guy thing. It’s on the “to do list” to cure hime of this problem,
I had a wonderful time while home. Spent lots of quality time with Mom and Dad. Mom and I got to watch the series finale of Downton Abbey together which was a wonderful bonus. I was able to see both of my brothers, my nieces and nephew and even my dear friend Sharon. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast and did our bit to boost the economy. On the way back to the airport I was able to visit both of my Aunts, so it really did feel like a full trip.
I did quite a bit of knitting this trip. Someone commented on my last post that I forgot to mention the name of the sweater that had been stalking me on Ravelry and Instagram, my bad, it’s called Stopover and honestly it’s a really quick knit. I am finished with the decreases and increases and now I’m just about ready to knit the sleeves. I don’t find it at all amusing that I came home to 70 degree weather. Too hot, too soon, big yuck because you know allergy season is right around the corner.
I was like the energizer bunny before I left. I blocked Sagebrush for mom, and of course forgot to take a photo. I bound off 500+ stitches for my Love of Spiders and I kept my promise about not starting the sweater until that labor of love was done. As soon as the last stitch was bound off, I immediately cast on the sweater.
Blocking in this crazy warm weather is Love of Spiders and I must say it was a fun knit and that shawl is HUGE. Love, love, love the color combination I chose. Both yarns are Yankee Sole, 100% merino with a great high twist. The colors are Fresh Apricot and The Admiral. Glamour shots when that sucker is dry.
I’m off to do household stuff and unpack and begin the repacking and I’ll tell you why in my next post.
Have a wonderful day!
