Greetings friends! I know, it’s been quite awhile since I’ve blogged.
I participated in Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival in the beginning of October which was loads of fun and promptly came down with a cold as we were driving home which was a real bummer time-wise as I had 2 wholesale orders to fulfill. Thankfully it stayed a normal annoying head cold so all was ok, I rested for a couple of days and then hit the dye pots running.
It was pretty thrilling to send off that first box filled with my yarn to an actual brick and mortar store here in Maryland, The Knitting Boutique in Glen Burnie, ahead of deadline…yay for the win! It was even more satisfying to send a box to my home state of Massachusetts. Oh man, that did my heart good I tell ya. What store in Massachusetts you ask? Why, Uncommon Yarn in Brookline to be exact. Stop in and tell Lesley and Trish that I sent you. It’s a lovely shop. Light and bright and full of beautiful yarn and great places to knit!!!
I went to MA for my mom’s birthday and we had to go to Boston for a medical appointment. I wasn’t sure what the day would hold for us and I was so hoping to pop into the shop and meet the owners and it happened.. I got to Uber for the first time….took my Dad for insurance. I’m sorry but the idea of getting into a car with a stranger just doesn’t sit well with me. FYI..the driver was very nice.
That’s me in the middle! It felt so good to be in Boston!
Next, what’s on the needles. I have completed a few things since we last met and photography is lacking. I did a shawl in the SVFF color way and I finished and blocked Nash, which I have dubbed, Big Pink. While in MA, my niece took a liking to it so I may need to knit another. I am knitting a hat for my father in law for a special birthday and it needs to be done by Friday….nothing like a deadline to keep the needles on fire. I’m almost ready to start the decreases so I’m not worried. I am also working on a shawl with colors I don’t usually knit with…gray…and I’m knitting in 2 shades of gray, Dove and Graphite and I’m smitten. Pictures soon. I’m doing the hat in our new Harbor DK in Graphite and it’s really got some lovely hues.
I could see a beautifully cabled sweater in this….TBD. Let’s hear it for gray!!!
It’s election eve…is that a thing….it feels like a thing.
I’m off to finish the hat! I wanted to let you know that I’m still here.

Happy Knitting ~ Michele
