Greetings this new year! I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season.
I’m hoping to write a bit more this year as last year personally was a hot mess and yet professionally exceeded my expectations….!
I am proud to say that Yankee Dyer Yarns is now available in three brick and mortar shops and this thrills me to bits! If you find yourself in Brookline, MA, check out Uncommon Yarn …voted best new shops of 2016 by The Boston Globe. We can also be found at the soon to open Red Fox Yarns in Vienna, VA. They are opening on February 1, so if you live close and are a knitter/crocheter, check then out. We can also be found on The Knitting Boutique‘s website.
On February 18, we will be having a trunk show at Knit Locally in Gaithersburg, MD. If you live around the area or want a fun road trip, we would love to meet you!!
I spent the Martin Luther King weekend with my dearest friends on our annual getaway to Williamsburg, VA. We had such fun knitting, eating, drinking, shopping and laughing, lots of laughing. It was very much like setting an internal reset button after the holidays and a rather tumultuous year. Last year I mentioned to my friends that I was thinking about starting a memories blanket with my wee bits of leftover yarn and my friend Katharine was with me on this fun project. In fact she was the only one who ACTUALLY started it. Well, I rectified that this year by starting mine in earnest. Here is ALL the knitting I did on our weekend away…
I had grand plans of finishing sweaters in various stages of knitting, in fact my knitting was heavier than my actual suitcase. It was just nice to have no obligations whatsoever.
There is lots going on this year with shows and in my next post I’ll share with you these events.
I hope your weekend is wonderful. The sun is out here and for that alone I am greatful.
Happy Knitting ~ Michele
