I’ve been keeping a secret for a l o n g time. I was asked by the fabulous folks at Jimmy Beans Wool to participate in their Mico-Brew series and I was thrilled to accept.
The yarn was to be based on the book The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I had an absolute blast coming up with the color. To be honest, it’s my favorite part next to seeing what my colors grow up to be. The lovely folks at Jimmy Beans even designed a lovely accessory called Don’t Panic Wrap and it really captures the essence of the yarn.
If you buy the yarn at Jimmy Beans, you get a code for 50% off the pattern! Win, win I’d say.
I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Greetings from Cape Cod! Oh how I miss this place. The summer traffic, not so much. I am having a chill out day and thought a quick blog post might be fun.
Last weekend my family and I went to Lauray Caverns in Virginia and honestly it was magnificent. If you are in that neck of the woods I highly recommend it.
This is a totally mind-blowing picture. There is a natural spring on the bottom which acts as a reflecting pool for the ceilings. Who needs photoshop when mother nature does this for you.
This was really fascinating too. Here you were allowed to throw in money and make a which. They have raised more that a million dollars that they have donated.
In knitting news, my sweater is in the process of being sewn up and I left it home. Too bulky to schlep around. I am working on my Olympic knitting, one is a wrap, Nash by Alicia Plummer and the other is a shawl with beads by Romi Hill called Latticework. I won’t finish either before the end of the summer games.
Are you knitting along with the games? I’ve enjoyed the girls gymnastics and all the swimming and was lucky to catch some equestrian events this am.
I hope you are staying cool as the humidity has been brutal.
Knitting picture progress next blog post.
Until then, be well!
Hi there! It’s been an extremely busy summer. I feel like I’ve been in the car for most of it shuttling the boy here there and everywhere. This week is Circus camp. To say that I am sick of being in the car would be an understatement and what is happening on Saturday, many, many hours in the car as we head to Cape Cod for a much needed vacation.
So, what to pack for car knitting???? This is the great dilemma. My current project involves a rather large chart, lace and beads, not exactly car friendly, I’ve already tried that.
I really didn’t feel like doing another shawl or a hat or mittens or miles of garter stitch. I was texting back and forth last night with my friend Sue and she asked a very important question, what size project do you want? That was the exact question I needed. I looked through all my patterns and decided on Nash. It’s a scarf with a lacy feel and in a DK weight yarn. I have DK yarn left over from something with cashmere and it’s in a pot right now getting happy in it’s dye bath. Yep, last minute mad dash to the dye pot. For a dyer I would think this is typical.
I have tons more to share but not enough time to do so at the moment.
I will share a little secret, keep your eye on Jimmy Beans Wool! Something wonderful will be going on there soon!
In case you like Kevin Bacon, here is a little eye candy for you!
