Oh the knitting….

I have been knitting my fingers off playing catch up with the MKAL.  Yes, I know it’s not a race, but I had a knitting error to fix and then away I went.  I just finished Clue #2 yesterday and snapped you a quick picture.

Pretty, right?  I am absolutely in love with the texture of this shawl.  If you haven’t tried any designs by Rosemary (Romi) Hill, please treat yourself and your yarn to an adventure.  Because of Ms. Hill, I can read charts!!  Which really does make knitting so much easier.  This happened last year while doing her first mystery shawl.  It was a joyous day!!

As I head into Clue 3, I threw in a LIFELINE and STITCH MARKERS.  I have had too many incidents of knitting going wonky with no lifeline to save me and the feeling is bad folks, really bad.  Now remember when putting in your safety net, go under your stitch markers and NOT THRU THEM.  Ask me how I know??  I am always excited to finish one clue and go onto the next that sometimes I forget the lifeline and after completing Clue 1, I zipped one in and went thru the markers.  It became clear in about a nano second as I started to knit what the problem was, I went thru the markers and not under them….UGH….here was my quick fix.  I grabbed my scissors and pried open the stitch marker and replaced it with a new one and then slapped myself in the head!! (Actually left myself a note by my knitting area).

Please practice SAFE KNITTING folks and then you won’t have to smack yourself.

Best,

Michele
